What a Graphic Design Professional Says
"Krys and I began working together in the fall of 2023, and over the course of nearly three years through the spring of 2026, I've had the privilege of watching her grow in remarkable ways. As the assistant basketball coach for the Washington State Cougars women's basketball program, graphic design was never a requirement of her role. However, recognizing the importance of recruiting and promoting games and events, Krys took the initiative to develop these skills on her own — something that immediately set her apart. When we started, she had no prior experience with Photoshop. What she did have, though, was the mindset of a true athlete. Krys showed up consistently — often 3 to 5 times per week — with the determination to improve, learn, and push herself beyond her comfort zone. She approached every session with a winning attitude, positive energy, and a genuine enthusiasm that made her an absolute pleasure to work with. Over time, she built a strong foundation in graphic design and developed proficiency in Photoshop concepts, including smart objects, masking, channels, selections, and composition. She even took on more complex tools like the Pen tool — something many students find challenging — and committed herself to learning it. What stands out most about Krys is her commitment to doing things the right way. She asks thoughtful questions, puts in the effort to understand the 'why' behind the process, and never settles for shortcuts if they compromise quality. That level of care speaks volumes about both her professionalism and her character. It's been incredibly rewarding to witness her growth over the years. Even though graphic design may not be her primary field, she approached it with the same intensity, discipline, and dedication that defines great athletes — giving nothing less than 110% in everything she does. Beyond her work ethic and progress, Krys brings a great energy to every interaction. She's positive, driven, and simply a lot of fun to work with. I have no doubt that whatever she chooses to pursue, she will continue to excel and make a meaningful impact."
Every skill has a starting point. This was mine. The Create Your Own Legacy graphic for Alice Dart was the first piece built from scratch. Learning layers, learning light, learning the tools. It was rough around the edges and that's exactly the point.
Look at where it goes from here.
The Create Your Own Legacy series was where a visual identity started to take shape. Consistent branding, player photography, atmosphere. Getting comfortable with the process and building something recognizable.
The committed graphics pushed into new territory — motion, depth, drama. Each one a little more intentional than the last. Developing a signature feel while serving the program and the players.
Some graphics go beyond the news. These pieces were built to tell a player's story — celebrating a career, capturing a moment, or framing a player's identity in a way that lives longer than a post.
When the program made the postseason, the graphics had to match the moment. High energy, high stakes, built to travel across social media and represent the program on a bigger stage.
When players started representing their countries, the work had to match that stage. FIBA graphics, international platforms, higher stakes. These pieces went beyond the program and onto a world stage.
The 25-26 roster graphic represents where the work stands today. Every player, every name, one frame. Built to represent the program with pride and set the tone for the season ahead.
Beyond still graphics, the work extends into video — hype reels, program features, and content built to move people as much as the game does.
